Communicating the message
Effective internal communication of sustainability issues is an important part of our strategy, to ensure cultural change throughout the business.
All new starters receive a copy of the Health and Safety and environmental policies on their first day of employment and are required to positively adopt these principles.
The Redrow intranet provides a wealth of information on sustainability issues, including dedicated Health and Safety and Environmental pages. Here staff can access all our Policies, Procedures and Standards as well as finding information on best practice, progress updates, newsletters and standard forms.
Sustainability issues are fully integrated within the departmental Policies and Procedures across the company.
On our sites, Health and Safety and environmental issues are assessed on a regular basis. The Health & Safety Team undertake a monthly Health, Safety & Environment check of each site identifying areas for improvement and assigning timescales for the completion of these improvements. The Site Manager also undertakes a weekly check of these issues, as does the Area Construction Manager. All staff visiting sites have a duty to report any potential health, safety or environmental issues they identify.
