Redrow steps up its commitment on UKGBC’s Climate Commitment Platform

14th February 2022

Redrow has strengthened its pledge on the UK Green Building Council’s Climate Commitment Platform – reflecting the progress that has taken place since first contributing in 2019.

The UKGBC’s Climate Commitment Platform is an online tool designed to profile the carbon targets of built environment organisations and promote further action and ambition across the sector.

The built environment sector is responsible for emissions. Strong commitments made by businesses operating in this sector will be crucial for the UK to reach its net zero target and help position the UK as a global leader on climate action.

We are among 43 other companies listed on the platform - up from 27 in 2019. This rise is indicative of a huge amount of activity that has taken place in recent years to address the climate challenge.

Our aim is to demonstrate leadership by setting, and delivering against, ambitious climate commitments, including:

  • Achieve net zero carbon across own operations, new homes and supply chain operations no later than 2050.
  • Set interim science-based targets across scope 1, 2 and scope 3 in 2022.
  • Procure 100% renewable electricity for all plots, show homes, site compounds and offices.

Redrow is also a signatory to the Race to Zero, a UN-backed global campaign rallying leadership and support from businesses, cities, regions and investors for a healthy, resilient, zero carbon world.
